The German Embassy in Hanoi is one of 230 German diplomatic missions abroad. Since 1991, the German Embassy has been located in the center of Hanoi at 29 Tran Phu - the headquarters of the former Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Germany. Embassy departments are located in many buildings on this property. The mission of the Embassy is to represent the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam, protect the interests of Germany and Europe and support German citizens in Vietnam. In addition, the Embassy is also responsible for maintaining liaison and negotiation with the Government of Vietnam, improving bilateral relations between Germany and Vietnam in the political, economic and cultural fields.
